Day 25: I don’t have what it takes.

Lord, what did you say? Do you know WHO YOU ARE ASKING? Me?!??! ARE YOU SURE you want me to do this? Are you REALLY sure? There are others that would be better than me.

The plans the Lord has for us is often much bigger than what we could expect or imagine. It can be scary and daunting, leaving us questioning what the Lord is thinking!

Gideon felt the same way.

Judges 6:14-16, “The Lord turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?”

“Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.”

The Lord answered, “I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites, leaving none alive.”

I will be with you. It is the only answer you need before you decide to obey and move forward.

I will be with you. It is a reminder that even in the midst of anxiety and fear, you are not alone.

I will be with you. You alone do not have what it takes, but through the power of the Holy Spirit, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (Philippians 4:13).

I will be with you. It is a promise that you don’t have to and won’t have to do the will of God alone.

Dear God, I may not always understand your ways and your plans. I’m scared and I don’t know what to do, but I commit to being obedient because I know that you are always with me. Thank you for always being there! Amen.
