I understand the frustration that can arise when you're praying and seeking God for an answer, only to feel like He's silent. It's easy to become disheartened and even angry in such moments. The enemy often seeks to disrupt our relationship with God and distract us from hearing His voice. However, rest assured that the Lord is speaking to you. One of the ways He communicates is through His Word
Romans 10:17 says, “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”
Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
John 1:1 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
We often grow impatient and easily irritated because we long for quick and easy answers. Yet, to hear God clearly, we must immerse ourselves in His Word. Deepening our understanding of Him requires diving into His teachings. Discerning whether what we hear is from God or the enemy hinges on our knowledge of God's Word. After all, the Lord will never speak anything contradictory to His teachings.
The enemy, on the other hand, thrives on deception. He frequently whispers lies, suggesting that we aren't good enough, faithful enough, or holy enough to hear from God. But let me assure you, this is a boldface lie!
John 10:27-28 says, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.”
You have the ability to hear His voice, although you may not always recognize it immediately amidst the clamor of other voices, distractions, and perhaps an incomplete understanding of the Word of God. If you're seeking guidance from the Lord, take the initiative to search for scripture verses relevant to your situation. Invite the Lord to unveil His response to you, and rest assured, He will make His voice heard.
Dear God, I desire to hear you. I pray for fresh revelation through your word. Thank you that I can hear your voice and that you desire to speak to me. I am listening. Amen.
